CHARLA CHOUINARD

Charla Chouinard is a Tattoo Artist currently based in Rio Rancho, NM right outside of Albuquerque, with over a decade of experience.

 

​She has had a love for art as long as she can remember. With a sketch book constantly in hand, a young Charla knew she was destined for a career in art. 

​

Her career began in her home state of New Mexico where she began her tattoo journey in 2012. That same year, she graduated with her degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Studio Art. Since then she has practiced in Montana, and Washington state, before moving back to New Mexico in 2024.​ 

​

In 2019, Charla welcomed her daughter Monet; which was her main motivation in building her business. In 2020 she opened Una Orchid Designs, where she focused her talents on digital art and graphic design. In 2021 she merged her two greatest loves, art and tattoo, to create Una Orchid Tattoo Gallery.  

 

In 2024 her family moved back to New Mexico while 32 weeks pregnant. This meant closing the business doors in Washington, but opening the doors to exciting new opportunities in NM. In June of 2024, her son Maddox was welcomed into the family. While on Maternity leave Charla took on the immense responsibility of reopening her business.

Today, 4020 Peggy rd SE is a true sentiment to Charla's dedication to this industry. She explains the space as "her insides displayed on the outside", and she can not wait to share that with all her wonderful future clients. She has never stopped learning and growing her skills in tattooing. Her passion shows through the immense detail and care she puts into each custom tattoo she designs and applies.

Una Orchid Tattoo Gallery is based around the belief that art is from the soul; and is just as unique as the person wearing it. Charla’s clients can trust that their ideas are in the care of an open minded and kind hearted individual with years of experience and training.
